Killruddery. Reflections on glass.
“Killruddery. Reflections on glass” is a documentary project, presenting contemporary photographs of Killruddery Estate, taken with the 19th century photographic technique – Wet Plate Collodion.
Killruddery House and Gardens is the 17th century residency located near Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland.
The collaboration of the historical surroundings of the Estate and the 19th century photographic technique has created images, giving a sense of the long and wonderful tradition of this place.
The project was also a personal challenge of working with the wet plate collodion on location, what involves bringing all the equipment, chemicals and portable darkroom with the photographer for each session. I have spent a couple following weeks working on the project, which ended with a very successful exhibition in the Killruddery Stable Studio (2011)
